Trikuta Aviation is the pilgrimage arm of Trikuta Travel Planners — an aviation and ground-handling company that has been working at Indian airports and Himalayan helipads since 2002.
Where we started
Trikuta began in 2002, handling ground operations for the Vaishno Devi helicopter service in Jammu — one of the highest-volume pilgrimage operations in the country, and one where there is very little room to improvise. From there the work extended to the Shri Amarnath Yatra in 2006, and then to Mani Mahesh, Machail, Hemkund Sahib and Kailash.
Pilgrimage work is seasonal; aviation is not. Trikuta provides full airport ground handling — passenger and baggage handling, ramp services, load control, cargo, fuelling, executive aviation handling and station administration — and owns the equipment to do it: pushback tractors, belt loaders, ground power units, passenger boarding bridges and steps.
In 2023 the Airports Authority of India appointed Trikuta as an Authorised Ground Handling Agent at six airports through 2033: Adampur in Punjab, Pantnagar in Uttarakhand, Bhuntar in Himachal Pradesh, Shillong in Meghalaya, Lilabari in Assam and Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh.
Why that matters to a pilgrim
Ground handling is an unglamorous discipline. It is turnaround times, load sheets, weather calls, passenger movement and contingency planning — done to a standard, every day, whether or not anyone is watching. It is also, almost exactly, the skill set a Himalayan helicopter yatra demands.
Most helicopter yatra packages are assembled by travel agents who buy seats and resell them. When cloud closes in at Phata, an agent can only pass on what they are told. We have spent twenty-four years being the people who handle that morning. In 2024 and 2025 we handled ground operations for rescue flights at Manimahesh.
How we work
One named coordinator per booking. A written, dated package sheet before any payment. An evening briefing in Dehradun so that nobody boards a helicopter unsure of what happens next. And a straight answer when a date, a fitness level or an expectation is not realistic — including when that costs us the booking.
To be precise about what we do and do not do: Trikuta does not own or operate the aircraft. Helicopter flights are performed by licensed, DGCA-approved charter operators. What we bring is the aviation-side discipline around them — the coordination, the ground handling, the contingency planning and the person standing at the helipad with your family.

From first message to final darshan

Tell us who is travelling
Preferred month, number of travellers, and anything we should plan around — elderly parents, mobility needs, dietary preferences.

We send the package sheet
A dated sheet with your flying dates, hotels, the sequence, inclusions, exclusions, terms and the exact price. Written down, so nothing depends on memory or a phone call.

Confirm, register and arrive
Seats are held and documents collected. We send you the Uttarakhand Government yatra registration link — mandatory for every pilgrim — and an arrival plan for Dehradun, where you report one day before your flying date.

Ground coordination at every dham, palki and darshan assistance arranged, and a number that is answered when weather shifts. Flights are performed by licensed DGCA-approved charter operators; we coordinate the journey around them.
